Planktober

Planktober ’19

October is here. Changing colors, apple picking, pumpkin pie… and of course Planktober!!

So what is Planktober?

  • Planktober is community
  • Planktober is strength
  • Planktober is giving back

Every year, our community joins together during the month of October, planking daily as we grow stronger and build our healthy roots. But it has become much more than just planking. In the last four years our planking community has raised money for Tricia Hussey, a friend and community member who bravely fought and beat cancer, the Micheal J Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s disease and New Milford Hospital’s Plow to Plate healthy eating program.

This year we plank together in gratitude for our Washington First Selectman Mark Lyon. Mark Lyon has served our town for the past 12 years. He has given so much to our community and it is very fitting that he has requested all money raised during Planktober ’19 be donated to the Washington Community Fund.

So if you haven’t already please join our planking community this month! Follow our plank challenge schedule, be sure to check in with us and send in your pictures and videos!

If you would like to make a donation to the Washington Community Fund in honor of Mark Lyon you can do so by heading to our sponsor Marty’s Cafe in Washington or by clicking here . While supplies last, anyone will making a donation of 20 dollars or more will receive an official Planktober ’19 hat!

Happy Planking everyone!!
